Bishop Timothy Senior to be installed as head of Harrisburg Diocese
to pay settlements with victims of clergy sex abuse.
The court decision followed nearly three years after the diocese filed for bankruptcy amid mounting claims from victims of clergy sex abuse.Senior, a classically trained pianist and graduate of Lansdale Catholic High School in Lansdale, Pa., was the Moderator of the Curia of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia from 2009 to 2012. Senior has also served as a Vicar for Clergy and in the Archdiocesan Secretariat for Catholic Human Services, both as deputy secretary and then secretary.
The Diocese of Harrisburg overs 15 counties in south and central Pennsylvania, including: Adams, Columbia, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder, Union and York.
