Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens will welcome autumn with 'Harvest Blooms,' a dazzling display of flowers, plants, pumpkins and more.

, but not just the classic orange variety. There will be plenty of those, but also gnarlier kinds.

Those odd-shaped and strikingly colored pumpkins will be affixed to the Large Pumpkin House, located south of the Grand Mallway. “The frame is 8 feet, so with the pumpkins on it, it’s probably closer to 9 feet tall,” said Arnold, whose team affixes the pumpkins to the frame using rings in five different sizes.“The pumpkins are set into a ring, and then we, for sure, wedge pumpkins in there so they’re not moving,” she said.
