La plataforma HBO Max está preparando una cinta derivada de 'Birds of Prey' (2020) que contará con Jurnee Smollett como protagonista y con Misha Green como guionista.
También colaboraron previamente en la serie “Underground” .
“Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn”, por su larguísimo titulo completo, fue una película de Warner Bros. sobre las historias de DC Comics que presentó un reparto y un equipo de producción muy femeninos. Además de Jurnee Smollett, esta cinta dirigida por la cineasta Cathy Yan y escrita por la guionista Christina Hodson contaba con Margot Robbie, Ewan McGregor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead y Rosie Pérez en su elenco.“Birds of Prey” se estrenó en febrero de 2020 y esquivó por los pelos la crisis de los cines cerrados durante meses por la pandemia.
Sin embargo, su recaudación se quedó muy lejos de lo esperado para una superproducción así ya que solo ingresó 202 millones de dólares en todo el mundo.
