Air temperatures could go as high as 105 with a heat index reaching 107 in spots both Wednesday and Thursday. In addition, south winds will gust over 20 mph leading to a continued elevated fire threat. Rain chances will continue to remain absent from the forecast for several more days. An upper level ridge of high pressure will remain anchored in place, keeping the weather relatively unchanged through the weekend.
On average, August produces more triple-digit days in DFW and is the second driest month behind July. Something to look forward to is the fact the normal temperatures begin to decrease in mid August as the atmosphere begins to react to the decreasing daylight.Mostly sunny, breezy and very hot.
