Multiple Republican lawmakers are standing by former President Donald Trump in the wake of his latest legal troubles, with many issuing statements of support on social media.
The statements come after Trump announced Tuesday he had received a target letter regarding special counsel Jack Smith's investigation into the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021. The former president alleges the target letter was sent on Sunday night and gives him four days to report to the grand jury investigating the Capitol riot, adding that it"almost always means arrest and indictment.
