Here's how you can tell Sen_JoeManchin is spineless
As centrist Sen. Joe Manchin weighs running for reelection in 2024, the West Virginia senator is extending his hand across the aisle to introduce a slew of bills alongside his GOP counterparts. All I can think while reading this piece is how funny it is. He never had this impulse back when it might have mattered — when the Senate was 50-50. Back then, he was willing to give in to Biden's agenda in exchange for nothing but empty promises.
This is the kind of representation West Virginia has been getting from Manchin ever since his rise to the Senate — the kind that inserts itself into lost causes all for show, because those are the ones that never rock the boat. Otherwise, he puts his party ahead of his state every single time. Recall how, during the debate over Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Supreme Court, he waited until the Republicans had already come up with the necessary votes to confirm.
