Even in worst case, inertia and force of habit are strong, and they will give Netflix a little bit longer runway than 6 months. How many AOL subscribers are still out there, after all? Put less coyly, if Netflix were to introduce a premium-priced 17+ gated service including some really edgy original content, alongside a lower priced, sanitized family-friendly option, they'd instantly create a ton of interest, revenue and, um, sticky content. At the very least, they'd own a piece of the pie that Disney couldn't touch and remain Disney, even through a sub-brand.
