The number of Pride Month events has grown in the area over the past few years.

LGBTQ residents of the booming Hill Country have more options for events and safe spaces than ever before.The sixth edition of the Boerne PRIDEWalk gets going at the Patrick Heath Public Library at 9 a.m. on Saturday, with the actual walk down the city’s historic Main Street starting at 10 a.m and wraps up around 1 p.m., takes place at the Comal County Fair Grounds on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Rev. Kerry Kirtley is one of the Boerne PRIDEWalk’s founders and a senior pastor for the Touchstone United Church of Christ in town. The church, which sponsors the walk along with other organizations, identifies itself as “theologically progressive” and is dedicated to a number of social justice causes, according to its website.
