A landmark Dallas building that had been slated for redevelopment is now up for sale.
The former Braniff International Airways hostess college on the Dallas North Tollway was built in 1968 as a training center for the Dallas-based airline’s flight attendants. The five-story building at the tollway and Wycliff Avenue has been empty for more than eight years. Now the 60,000-square-foot property is up for grabs. It’s listed for sale with Davidson Bogel Real Estate, which describes the property as an “Uptown redevelopment opportunity.
“The property remains a landmark to this day with tremendous frontage on the Dallas North Tollway and the proximity to Uptown, downtown Dallas and Dallas Love Field Airport,” according to the real estate firm’s marketing pitch.“We have been approached from a few different groups that would convert the building to multifamily and are exploring options,” Milner said in an email.into a boutique hotel.
When it opened, the training center was adorned with Latin American art and textiles. There’s a circular seating area in the main area with a fireplace that remains in the building. The Braniff building is one of few surviving properties from the international airline, which shut down in 1982. Braniff’s oldProperty broker Davidson Bogel Real Estate shows potential renovations to the building in marketing materials.
