He went from Coney Island to Hollywood -- DarrenAronofsky, the award-winning director and producer, was back in the neighborhood Thursday. He paid a visit to his old middle school. HannahKliger has more on how his homecoming made an impact.
- Darren Aronofsky, the award-winning director, producer and screenwriter behind films like"Black Swan,""Noah" and"Requiem for a Dream," visited his Coney Island alma mater,He was greeted by a standing ovation of 8th graders in a packed auditorium on Neptune Avenue.
"They had so much energy and enthusiasm and talent. That's the well spring," Handel said of the students. "It's actually really cool because I get insight about a famous person's life in Mark Twain," said 8th grader Katie Alfred. "It was a very exciting piece to put together," said drama teacher Peter Decaro, standing with his students after the performance.
