Honor has taken to the stage at Mobile World Congress to reveal two new handsets that will act as the anchors of its dual-flagship strategy on the global markets.
The first is the Honor Magic5 Pro, a more traditional flagship which leans into the camera, physical design, and performance. The second is the Magic Vs, Honor’s first foldable smartphone released outside of China.
During the launch, Honor highlighted the performance of the 6.81-inch screen, and its color accuracy. This now has a dual calibration to offer the best images both indoors and outdoors; Circadian Night Display to reduce eye strain throughout the day; and Pulse Wave Modulation to reduce flickering. These have all contributed to the handset taking first place in the DXOMark display standings.
As always, showcasing a company’s prowess through the camera and imaging system is a key part of a smartphone launch. Honor has followed that track with a new capture algorithm, improved low light and night image capture, and AI technology to sense and compensate for motion when taking pictures.
