Lawmakers struggled to find a solution to the most difficult funding question in recent years: how much money to approve for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border

WASHINGTON—The House will move to pass two bundles of spending legislation Tuesday as Congress and the White House rush to approve new government funding before it runs out after Friday.

The spending deal released Monday, which lasts through the rest of the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2020, provides for nearly $1.4 trillion in federal spending, an increase of nearly $50 billion compared with last fiscal year.
