The Houston Chronicle earned numerous awards in an annual state journalism contest.
The Texas Managing Editors organization oversees the annual contest and. The Houston Chronicle staff won a total of 27 awards across a variety of categories.
"We are incredibly proud of the work our talented staff does day in and day out," said Houston Chronicle executive editor Maria Reeve."These awards recognize the consistent performance our journalists turn in to serve the Houston community." The Chronicle also took first place for “star online package of the year” for coverage including an interactive graphic of the, which examined a massive infrastructure project and presented it to readers in an understandable format.
