UH running back Alton McCaskill, who missed last season with a knee injury, has decided to enter the transfer portal.University of Houston running back Alton McCaskill IV has entered the transfer portal, a school spokesman confirmed Tuesday night.
The loss of McCaskill is a big blow for the Cougars, who are set to join the Big 12 this season. As a freshman, McCaskill rushed for nearly 1,000 yards and 16 touchdowns to earn AAC Rookie of the Year. McCaskill missed all of last season with a torn ACL and was limited in spring practice. In an interview with reporters in late March,and was anxious to show he was better than prior to the injury.
McCaskill had a sit-down conversation with UH coach Dana Holgorsen on Monday. His paperwork is expected to be finalized Wednesday.
