Ohio State football and Maryland are both undefeated heading into the Buckeyes' homecoming game on Saturday.
The Buckeyes won 43-30 at Maryland last season to improve to 8-0 in the series since the Terrapins joined the Big Ten Conference. However, that score is somewhat misleading. Maryland trailed only 36-30 and had the ball with 42 seconds remaining. Zach Harrison’s strip sack of quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa, and Steele Chambers’ touchdown recovery, provided the final margin.
Tagovailoa is back and guides an offense averaging 6.81 yards per play — tied for second with Michigan among all Big Ten teams. Ohio State leads with 7.10. Two of the teams’ last four meetings have come down to the fourth quarter, or later.
