Netflix debuted its live-action adaptation of the popular anime series 'One Piece' in August 2023, starring Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd and more
How the Cast of Netflix's 'One Piece' Series Compares to Their Anime Counterpartsseries. The show — based on the manga comics series of the same name by— follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy as he assembles a ragtag pirate crew in hopes of achieving his dream of becoming the next Pirate King and finding a famous hidden treasure called the “One Piece.” The manga was later adapted into a Japanese animated series in 1999, which still continues to air episodes.
Godoy portrays the show’s main protagonist, who has the ability to stretch his limbs. Just like his manga and animated counterpart, Godoy’s version of the character sports an iconic straw hat.
