The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported that more than 34 million people are food insecure across the country.
"What food insecurity means, how it is defined by our country is a lack of consistent access to enough food for every person so they can live a happy, healthy, active life," said Yurko, "It can be very much a temporary situation. You might lose your job. You might have a health condition that leads you to need some help. You can also be a working family, you can be working multiple jobs and still experience food insecurity because of inflation and rising costs.
