Over 300 bills affecting LGBTQ+ rights are being introduced this year in the U.S., with 130 of them specifically targeting transgender people. Mental health professionals discuss the significant impacts on LGBTQ+ youth’s access to care and wellbeing.

These bills are also impacting the discrimination LGBTQ people face today, said Paviella Foster, chief program officer with Howard Brown Health. “These bills are really prohibiting the service lines and the wraparound services that they need to be able to get the support that they need on a day-to-day basis,” Foster said.
