For the first time in 60 years, it will now be possible to watch every available Doctor Who episode in one place. How did the BBC pull this off?

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The BBC is releasing an unprecedented treasure trove of Doctor Who content on BBC iPlayer in the U.K., and likely on Disney+ internationally. Just 30 years ago, it was impossible for any viewer to imagine watching every available episode of Doctor Who. The BBC had canceled Doctor Who in 1989, with just one old episode repeated every week on BBC2.

The BBC's cancelation turned out to be nothing more than a temporary hiatus, though, with celebrated showrunner Russell T. Davies successfully relaunching Doctor Who in 2005. Already the longest-running science-fiction TV series in the world, Doctor Who's future looks brighter than ever before thanks to an unprecedented partnership between the BBC and Disney, which will see the Doctor's adventures stream internationally on Disney+.

The BBC Is Releasing An Unprecedented Amount Of Doctor Who Content Doctor Who celebrates its 60th anniversary in November, and the BBC has revealed the party begins on November 1. For the first time in history, British viewers will be able to watch every available episode of Doctor Who and its various spinoffs in the same place - on the BBC iPlayer app.

What's for certain, though, is that Doctor Who has never been so readily available in the U.K. To give an idea of the scale, even now a collector would need to spend upwards of $1,200 on eBay to buy second-hand physical copies of all these stories - possibly significantly more, given the BBC tease a massive wealth of documentaries and other content accompanying the release.

All in all, then, this news is one of the greatest and most exciting moments of Doctor Who history. Back in 1989, the BBC canceled Doctor Who, believing the longest-running science-fiction show in the world had run out of steam. Now, just over 30 years later, the value and cultural significance of Doctor Who is being demonstrated on an unprecedented scale. 60 years of time travel adventures are becoming more accessible than ever before - and the future looks secured.
