'I’ve had rheumatoid arthritis, an invisible illness, for ten years. I’ve been in pain for for nine and a half of them as I’ve only recently found a treatment that works. I used to be very fit and active. It took me a long time to accept that illness is a part of me, although I wish it wasn’t. But has given me a whole new window of empathy and in doing so, has made me a hell of a lot better at being a photographer.
Three months after the birth, I realised enough was enough, I had to take a stand, to love and accept myself no matter my size or shape. I knew if I couldn’t do that, I would never be able to be happy and I couldn’t do my job of empowering women.
