SXSW 2023 is about to get underway, and it's anticipated that this will be the busiest festival in years. Here's how to get around Austin.
AUSTIN, Texas — The streets of downtown Austin are about be flooded with thousands of conference-goers as SXSW 2023 kicks off Friday, March 10. With venues and events spread across the city,
will be closed and the City of Austin and SXSW are encouraging everyone to use alternate forms of transportation to get around., with many stops around Austin to make it efficient for attendees to get to their events. Stops include various hotels downtown, movie theaters, the convention center and various other venues including bars.
CapMetro, Austin’s public transit, will be operating on overdrive to make get people where they need to be. Rail service hours will be extended Friday, March 10 through Saturday, March 18. There will also be a special Sunday service on March 12. CapMetro will also have routes to the family-friendly community concerts at Lady Bird Lake March 16-18 and kids get to ride for free.
Bikeshare stations across the city are also another option to get around.
