During Women In Music Weekend, more than 30 acts will perform at 30 different venues in Huntsville. The event's finale will be a free show at Orion Amphitheater.

Johnson grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi, the birthplace of rock & roll legend Elvis Presley. As a child, she began playing bluegrass music with her family. Her dad worked had a job with the federal government that eventually brought the family to North Alabama. An Arab High School graduate, Johnson gigs regularly in Huntsville with Seeking Babylon. By day, she works as a business analyst for a government contractor.
One of Mandrella’s first major initiatives? Establishing September as the first-ever Huntsville Music Month. Women In Music Weekend is one of the tentpole events of Huntsville Music Month.
