Update: The officer accused of shooting his wife in the face with a rifle has been identified as 31-year-old HPD officer Galib Waheed Chowdhury.
HPD and emergency officials with the Houston Fire Department responded to reports of a shooting at the Westerly Apartments located in the 10300 block of Clay Road at around 12:45 a.m.Police said when they arrived at the scene, they located a 30-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the face. She was transported to a nearby trauma center in stable condition and, at some point, will undergo surgery.
Shortly after, investigators determined that a 31-year-old patrol officer with HPD’s Northwest Houston Division shot his wife with a rifle.ARRESTED: Galib Waheed Chowdhury, 31, is charged with aggravated assault of a family member with serious bodily injury in the shooting of his wife.
