China is a slow, and perhaps decaying market for iPhones. Plus, as Apple analysts have pointed out over the last two quarters due to disappointing sales, the Cupertino, Calif.-based company is pricing itself out of China's market. All of this is troubling for both Google and the iOS as Huawei has yet to roll out its own operating system. When it does, things will change quickly in the entire Asian smartphone market with Apple seen taking the biggest hit.
Other Android smartphone makers are hoping to convert 5G and foldable display phones into more sales this year. Huawei is said to be making their own foldable display phone in China. Top Chinese brands are now following a dual-brand strategy to cover the maximum number of price bands and to appeal to different market segments.
