A Hudson County sheriff’s officer was arrested Thursday on a child pornography charge after a months-long investigation, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. William Medina, 35, of Union City, who has been a sheriff’s officer since 2012, is charged with one count of possession of child sex abuse material, a third-degree offense. He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and released pending his first court appearance, tentatively scheduled for June 29.
The prosecutor said Medina stored the child sex abuse material on an online file storage server, although she did not say if the material was stored on a county or personal server.
