Though many believed The Mandalorian era would end with the forming of the First Order, the official Star Wars timeline has made this impossible.
One of the biggest theories regarding the ending of The Mandalorian movie and overarching saga has recently become impossible. As the Mandoverse expands with Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew, The Mandalorian’s grand narrative seems to become clearer.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT After all, The Mandalorian season 3, episode 7 revealed that Brendol Hux, father of First Order General Armitage Hux, was leading his own Imperial Remnant during The Mandalorian and is heavily involved with Project Necromancer, which may be connected to Palpatine’s return.
The First Order Officially Formed Long After The Mandalorian Era The events of The Mandalorian seasons 1-3 take place roughly between 9-11 ABY.
Star Wars Has Already Revealed How The Mandalorian Era Ends If Heir to the Empire is indeed the case, then the likeliest ending for The Mandalorian era has already been revealed. Though the Imperial Remnants may thrive for a time under Grand Admiral Thrawn’s command, they need to once again be defeated and scattered across the galaxy if the First Order is to rise from the ashes.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens takes place in 34 ABY. That would give the First Order 13 years to collect resources and become the nuisance that had General Leia Organa worried enough to create a new Resistance. This timeline would seem the most logical and will ensure that the Heir to the Empire storyline, and the Mandoverse at large, are provided with their own firm narratives and conclusions without having to fully commit to the rise of the First Order.
