A father and son who ran an Illinois branch of Huntsville-based HomeTown Lenders says the company owns them more than $1 million.
According to the lawsuit, HomeTown did not pay the Perris their final compensation, stopped payment on checks sent to them, and failed to reimburse them for approved expenses. They also “failed to disclose the amount of withholdings” from the Perris’ paychecks and did not account for hundreds of thousands of dollars in contributions to HomeTown’s deferred compensation plan, according to the suit.
In all, Perri Sr. claims he is owed more than $738,000, while Perri Jr. puts his figure at more than $471,000. Based in Huntsville, HomeTown Lenders has more than 30 branch locations in 16 states, according to its website.CEO William Taylor published a video on the company’s intranet in late May thanking some branch managers for paying rent for the company.
