We might be coming to the end of the decade, but my watching habits are more pre-teen Gabe than ever., and other Nickelodeon and Disney Channel hits have long been a part of the general pop culture zeitgeist. Over the years, it’s been easy to refer back to these series through memes or internet jokes because — for many of us — they shaped our sense of humor, in one way or another.

Many of us are unsure if we’ll ever pay off crippling student debt or don’t even know if we’ll have jobs in the coming years thanks to shrinking industries and waves of lay-offs left and right. Simply put, there’s a bunch of shitty stuff outside of our control that can happen.
Additionally, the nostalgia of returning to characters we loved growing up is so much simpler than diving into a gritty new drama series. Getting to know new personalities and their motivations can be exhausting, just like making new friends. Sometimes I just want to turn on the television and spend time with characters who I already know what they’re going to do. I might not know the exact vision Raven’s going to have, but ISo many things today are out of our hands.
