Ian Somerhalder opens up about what it was like to work with his wife on his new Netflix show 'V Wars'.
marks the first time the married pair has ever acted in a project together, and now Ian is opening up about the experience., Nikki plays Rachel Swann, the ex-wife of Ian's Luther Swann. At first though, the producers apparently had something else in mind for Nikki.
"Initially, the producers…wanted her to play my wife, and she said, 'No, I appreciate that,' but she wanted to play something that was more unexpected, and she did and crushed it," Ian revealed toIan explained that Nikki has many things going on in her life, including raising their daughter, Bodhi Soleil, and running her jewelry company. Despite that, she was always ready to knock out a scene.
"To see her go in ultra-prepared...breastfeeding our baby, making sketches on conference calls, building this company, put it all down, walk onto set, deliver these powerful, nuanced performances, give everyone a hug and leave—you're just like, 'Whoa, what was that?'" he said.In fact, Ian enjoyed playing exes, despite the great relationship he has with his wife."We're so lovey-dovey in life and these characters were sort of at each other a bit.
Basically, Ian couldn't stop raving about the it all, and he seems super grateful to his wife for participating in the project."I owe her 20 years of back massages."
