Fairbanks Ice Dogs break six game losing streak, with a turn around against the Jets.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska -The first period of Saturday nights game would start like Friday nights, with the Jets taking a three goal lead heading into the second period. After some changes between the first and second period, the Ice Dogs would see a bit of puck luck float their way.
Just under a minute later, Gage Leonard brought on a hard forecheck and found the puck on his stick, sending it home to tie the game up at four with 6:35 left in the game. Coach Theros spoke about the difference between the first period and the rest of the game. “Yeah, and I think you know, we made a couple adjustments after the first period on kind of shutting down what they were successful with, and the guys bought into it and listened, and they were determined tonight.”
The hat trick hero talked about the two’s chemistry, “Yeah, so me and Kyle have known each other for a while. So it’s nice to kind of get our chemistry back playing together, and it was just a great place for my teammates. You know, it was good to get the win,” said Reece Cordray, Ice Dogs Forward.
