Adrienne Caughfield, a professor at Collin College in Plano, will share her historical expertise in a free event March 24 at the Allen Public Library.For "True Women and Westward Expansion," author Adrienne Caughfield mined the early-19th-century diaries and letters of some 90 Texas women.
Many Texans are familiar with early state historical figures like Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston. But the women who helped shape our state — people like Mary Austin Holley, Emily West and Margaret Houston — often fly under the radar., will discuss the contributions made by early Texas women in a free live event on March 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Allen Public Library.
