Thousands of couples postponed their weddings last year amid the pandemic, but this year, the festivities are back on — and the lovebirds want some serious gifts. Indeed, The Atlantic writes that this is “an unprecedented wedding season,” as “couples who have postponed their wedding are vying for resources with couples trying to book venues and photographers for the first time.” The New York Times declared in February simply that “the weddings boom is coming.”
That wedding boom has been a boom for Amazon too, according to recent data released by the company: Amazon Wedding Registry gift giving has more than doubled this year compared to the same period in 2020, the retail giant said.
