Justice prevails, after 22 years, for Indian man who took railway company to court that overcharged him
Railway crossing near Chunar, Uttar Pradesh, India. An Indian man who was overcharged for two train tickets in Mathura cantonment has sued the rail company, winning his case after 22 years.
The reason it took this long for Chaturvedi to receive a final word on his case was due to consumer courts in India being overwhelmed with the number of cases pending, and may take years to come to any conclusion. Tungnath Chaturvedi has attended more than 100 hearings in connection to his case against the rail company.
Noticing the mistake right away, Chaturvedi asked for a refund of 20 rupees, but was denied.
