A death investigation is underway after a 1-month-old boy was found unresponsive in the South Chicago neighborhood.
Police said someone went to check on the sleeping infant at a home in the 8100 block of South Exchange Avenue around 4:40 a.m., and found he was not breathing.Chicago firefighters who arrived at the home detected a gas leak from the kitchen stove. Peoples Gas later inspected the lines, but it's not clear if the gas leak is to blame for the infant's death.
