Halle Bailey transformed into Princess Ariel in “The Little Mermaid” with the help of makeup artist Kat Ali, who wanted to “create a ‘no-makeup’ makeup look with a siren twist.”
The inside scoop on Ariel's go-to glam comes just a few days after hairstylist Camille Friend revealed that production spent six figures for"I'm not guesstimating, but we probably spent at least $150,000 because we had to redo it and take it out," Camille explained toin an article published May 26."You couldn't use it, and we'd have to start again. It was a process.
Plus, Bailey's own locs were more than 24 inches long at the time of filming and Camille suggested keeping them instead of putting her in a wig. "If we take hair and wrap it around her locs, we don't have to cut them and we don't have to color them," Camille shared."We can change her color without changing her internal hair structure.
