Ivanka Trump has responded to the economic program touted by progressive Democrats and spearheaded by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, saying most Americans “want to work for what they get.”
“I don’t think most Americans, in their heart, want to be given something. I’ve spent a lot of time traveling around this country over the last four years. People want to work for what they get,” Trump said. New York Democratic Representative Ocasio-Cortez has made headlines for pursuing the Green New Deal, which she launched with Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey earlier this month. The bold initiative seeks to virtually eliminate greenhouse gas pollution in the United States over the next decade. The deal also seeks to address inequality by guaranteeing a job with a family-sustaining wage.
