The Jacksonville Jaguars have struggled mightily in situational football, and that will have to change Sunday against the Ravens.
Now is a time for the team to get back to the basics, players and coaches said this week, an opportunity for the team to right some of the wrongs that plagued them through the first 10 games of the year.
"They came back energized, ready to go, eager," Pederson said Friday. "We’ve had a couple good days here of practice, and we’ll finish up the next couple days, but they came back ready to go.” A similar sentiment was echoed by Jaguars receiver Marvin Jones, a veteran leader within the team's receiver room. Upon reflection, Jones came back a bit more encouraged by how the offense played through the first 10 games rather than the immediate feeling of disappointment.
Lloyd won't take a complete backseat, his reps will still come, but after speaking with coaches and Lloyd in the locker room this week, it was clear that he will play fewer snaps than he has through 10 games this year."When plays present themselves I gotta make them. It's as simple as that," he said.
"I know I started off hot and then the last few weeks, it wasn't as good as it was in the beginning," Lloyd said, noting afterward that he feels a lot better physically following the bye week after playing 10-straight games.
