The Rams' Jalen Ramsey, once the top-paid cornerback in the NFL, has no problems with so many teammates getting extensions. He's more concerned with rehabbing shoulder.
Matthew Stafford was back to firing passes at teammates during the first day of training camp as the Rams focus on defending their Super Bowl title.
The Rams’ outlay of cash for extensions is expected to grow before the Sept. 8 season opener against the Buffalo Bills at SoFi Stadium. During camp, the team is expected to announce that coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead have signed extensions.“It hasn’t been anything that’s discussed about like a new deal with him,” McVay said, “but I know, to my understanding, he feels really good about everything.
On Friday, the Rams announced Ramsey would be placed on the physically unable to perform list, a move Ramsey said he believed was creating needed roster space. But that decision to place him on the PUP list was reversed because it would have prevented Ramsey from participating in any on-field activities, including walk-throughs.On Monday, Ramsey participated in the walk-through before practice. He spent the rest of the workout on the sideline, clutching a practice script and helping teammates.
“Every time I come on the field, I want him to give me at least one or two pointers,” Kendrick said. “That’s what he tried to do a lot of [Monday].”
