Jeep announced today that the Wrangler will be joined by an all-electric cousin called the Recon in 2024., an event where the company revealed it would be bringing four new electric SUVs to market in Europe and the U.S., including a Wagoneer S luxury electric off-roader, and a Europe-only baby EV called the Avenger to sit below the Renegade.
The company did make clear that the Recon was designed from the ground up to be a Jeep 4×4, and isn’t merely a regular electric passenger car styled to look, which will remain on sale. Trail-friendly equipment will include Jeep Selec-Terrain traction management, e-locker axle technology, stout underbody protection, tow hooks, and aggressive off-road tires.
