claimed her first Golden Globe at The Beverly Hilton on Tuesday, she made an impassioned speech she’d initially planned to deliver in September, but never got around to.
Part of what Coolidge wanted to express — that she was able to tonight — was a gratitude to those who have helped her throughout her decades entertainment, giving her the jobs that kept her career in motion. “I just want to say, some of the people that are in this room, there were like five people that kept me going for 20 years with these little jobs. And Ryan Murphy, you were one of them,” Coolidge told the producer, who tonight accepted the Globes’ Carol Burnett Award.
