Jennifer Lopez has revealed she wasn’t paid for her performance in Hustlers. She says she starred in and produced the film just because she loved the story. Via SheKnows
“I’ve never been motivated by money, I’ve always been motivated by,, a great dancer; I want to make movies, I want to make music,’ the money came along with that.”
The mother of two continued, I do things because I love them. I didn’t get paid a whole bunch of money forI did it for free and produced it. I bank on myself. It’s like, ‘Jenny from the Block,’ I do what I want, I do what I love.” Thankfully, banking on herself worked out for Lopez as the film has since grossed more than $130 million at the box office since it’s theatrical release in September, and has garnered an overwhelmingly positive response from critics and moviegoers alike.
“It’s super satisfying to me that people love the movie, that there’s been such a great response to it,” Lopez added. “They know it’s all women producers, woman director, woman writer, all women starring in it. We’ve been watching men take advantage of women in movies for a long time, so it was a fun ride to see the tables turned.”
