.jermainedupri and peta will host a vegan Thanksgiving for Georgia families in need
Jermaine Dupri backstage at LIV nightclub at Fontainebleau Miami on Sept. 29, 2017 in Miami Beach, Fla.and PETA will be kicking off Thanksgiving early this weekend by hosting a vegan Thanksgiving for Georgia families in need, the organization announced Thursday .
Hosted in Atlanta's Westview neighborhood, the meal will feature a full holiday spread including roasted vegan turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy and pumpkin pie. Tofurkey roasts will also be given away during the event. "I've been vegan for over a decade," Dupri said in a statement, "and for me, there's nothing better for feeling your best and knowing you're helping the planet and animals. The holidays are about the spirit of giving, and PETA and I want to give people in Atlanta a Thanksgiving meal that's healthy, humane and delicious."
The Thanksgiving event will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at West Hunter Street Baptist Church, where the rapper will be joined by
