Cornerback D.J. Reed hasn’t cleared the concussion protocol according to coach Robert Saleh who on Friday ruled Reed out of the game in Denver. Saleh said on Wednesday that he expected Reed to clear the protocol and play.
Saleh didn’t answer when asked if Gardner might be tasked with following Denver’s top receiver, Courtland Sutton. He leads the Broncos with three receiving touchdowns and has been targeted 28 times this season, the same combined amount as the Broncos’ next two receivers combined. Veteran Bryce Hall could also fill in for Reed, but he’s struggled at times over the past two years when put in the game as opposing offenses have targeted him.
