The quarterback was sacked on the team’s first offensive drive and was ruled out with an ankle injury for the remainder of the game.
New York Jets fans barely had time to show up to the MetLife Stadium on Monday night before the team’s new star quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, went down with an ankle injury on the first offensive drive and had to be carted from the sidelines.
At a press conference later in the evening, coach Robert Saleh said he feared Rodgers had ruptured his achilles. Saleh said he “hurt for Aaron and how much he has invested in all of this, I’m still going to say a prayer, I’m still going to hold out hope, my heart’s with Aaron now and nowhere else.”
