The New York Jets had way bigger problems than the anticipated bigger one in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.
The Cowboys beat the Jets 30-10, setting the tone by driving for a touchdown on the opening drive . The offense was far from spectacular, the Cowboys dominated them as everyone expected while facing one of the most dominant front lines in the NFL.
The Cowboys lead was 18-10 at halftime, after Wilson led back-to-back scoring drives at the end of the first half: a 68-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson and an impressive field goal drive after the two-minute warning in which Zach Wilson used his legs to pick up 34 yards on four carries with the pass rush closing in.
But that was to be expected against one of the best defenses in the league. What wasn’t expected is the Jets’ defense struggling against a Cowboys offense the thad been a question mark last year. And the Jets’ offensive line looking far worse than they did against Buffalo, leaving Wilson running for his life for much of the afternoon.
The Jets couldn’t run the ball. They couldn’t pass the ball. And they couldn’t make tackles when they had to. Without Rodgers, Wilson wasn’t their biggest problem. It turns out they have a whole lot of things to worry about.
