This week hasn't been kind to the New York Jets on the injury front.
“We’re 50-50,” Saleh said, admitting that the team was working out kickers Friday in case Zuerlein can’t play. “It’s not serious. But serious enough to bring this game into question.”
This is a meaningful injury because both the Jets’ and Cowboys’ defenses are talented and this could end up being a low-scoring, back-and-forth game that could be decided by a field goal. And now the Jets very well could be leaning on a kicker who wasn’t in the building until 48 hours or less before the game.
“More like a knuckleball,” Saleh said. “Joe and his staff, they’re on it ... but gotta roll with the punches.”
