A reader passed along an email from Google and asked me to explain the meaning. The message said, “Location History is paused for your account and you haven’t...
The email explains that at one time, this reader had turned on Location History in their Google account, and then apparently turned it off at least a year ago.Google is notifying the reader that their data will be purged in September, and if they’d like to download a copy, it explains how to do so.
Google Location History is off by default, and Google can only see your location information if you turn it on. You can see an example of this data by looking up a business in Google Maps and viewing a graph showing when the business is most busy.
