Rob Zombie's Halloween remake wasn't well-received by John Carpenter, and he's right in his criticism of what Zombie did to the story.
The Halloween franchise has gone through different retcons and created different timelines, including a remake one thanks to Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Halloween II, though these are some of the most criticized entries in the series, and even John Carpenter openly expressed his dislike – and he’s right to hate the remakes.
Not long after Carpenter’s comments on Zombie and his Halloween remake were made public, Carpenter shared that they had settled their differences and had moved on – however, he didn’t say more about his thoughts on the remake nor did he change his mind about what he had previously said about it.
