During an ESPN broadcast of Wimbledon on Monday, cameras panned to actress-singer Idina Menzel in the stands at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, where she caught the first-round matchup between reigning champion Novak Djokovic and Pedro Cachin of Argentina.
As ESPN commentator Chris Fowler remarked on Menzel’s presence, McEnroe took the opportunity to call out John Travolta’s infamous Oscars blunder of Menzel’s name — only to make the mistake himself. “Here’s a trivia question, what did John Travolta call her?” the seven-time Grand Slam winner asked Fowler, who then laughed.
Travolta made headlines during the 2014 Academy Awards after fumbling Menzel’s name as he introduced the “Frozen” star, 52, to perform the Oscar-winning song, “Let It Go,” from the 2013 Disney blockbuster.
