Jennifer Aniston in the third season of “The Morning Show,” which premieres Wednesday on Apple TV+. , the founder and chairman of motion picture production/finance company and television studio Media Res is on quite the run.
We recently caught up with Ellenberg to talk about the electrifying third season of “The Morning Show,” the one where Rachel Green meets Don Draper.The vision was, that our characters had achieved a lot of their goals in theory at the end of season 2. So just when they can kind of got what they want, we want to pull the rug out from under them.
We need someone that we thought would have great chemistry with Jennifer. Jon really was the first and only choice. Yeah, and they’re both stars, they’re icons. Their roles before this are still universally known. That was part of, beyond the show itself, the possibility of Don Draper and Rachel being connected. Of course, that’s an exciting possibility.
It’s a show about media right now and about the changing social mores, so if we weren’t exploring that the show would be artificial. It’s a big conversation out here in a good way and we want to see what it’s like on the ground. I think a couple of years after Black Lives Matter, how much has changed, how much is the same? Being in it in real time felt vital to this season. Nicole Beharie is really exceptional this year and was an exciting new addition as well.
